About the Reviewer

J. Pablo Fernández is a second generation programmer who started coding at the age of seven with a CZ Spectrum (a licensed clone of the ZX Spectrum). His professional career started at age 16 interning for a software security company and a software shop producing telecommunications billing software.

He developed a fair amount of free software and became a member of the KDE project working in its accessibility module. After getting bored with C++, Pablo embarked on a quest to find, or create, the perfect programming language. A quest that obviously took him to Lisp, Smalltalk, Haskell, and eventually he settled with Ruby.

Among his achievements he counts: developing a web app in C, back in the day when that didn't sound as crazy as it is, working for Google, writing a piece of code to route calls in a call center that has been working for years routing millions of calls without a single bug ever found out, crafting open source code that took on a life of its own.

Today, he is the CTO of a startup he co-founded in 2011 called Watu, creating an application for temporary staffing agencies. When he's not drowning in e-mails, he's using RubyMine for his daily job, coding a Ruby on Rails application.
